You can repeat the check using the Midomi address. This observation explains why older tutorials telling you to press a recording button on Midomi may no longer match what you see. It does not establish a worldwide shutdown date or guarantee identical behavior in every region.
A Reddit discussion about Midomi problems also contains reports of failed searches and missing browser functionality. Those comments are useful user experiences, not an official announcement. We have not verified an acquisition or a formal closure date, so we do not describe the redirect as evidence of either.
Can SoundHound still recognize humming?
According to SoundHound’s own music-search help, its app accepts recorded music, singing and humming. Open the app, tap its orange search button and hum alone for at least ten seconds. Finish the search, then listen to any suggested track to check the melody and performer.
This is the documented app workflow, not a claim that we tested its accuracy on your song. A successful search depends on the tune, recording and available catalog. If a result is wrong, try a clearer chorus or another method; a confident-looking title is not proof of a match.

Try Google song search on Android
Google’s current Android instructions say to open the Google app, tap the microphone, choose Search a song, and hum, whistle, sing or play the music. Compare the candidate songs before choosing one. This is the phone app’s song-search feature, not ordinary browser voice typing.
If the button is unavailable on your device, consult the device-specific tab in Google’s help page or try SoundHound. App availability and interfaces can differ by region and device; we have not tested every combination.
What if you cannot install an app?
First separate a remembered tune from an actual recording. A browser extension that identifies a song playing in a tab may help with a video, but that does not show it can recognize your own humming. Uploading a hummed file to an original-audio matcher does not change that limitation.
